Please note: Hog Hollow is situated on the edge of the gorge, so it is not suitable for wheelchairs or people who have mobility or related diability issues.
There are unfenced pools and dams on the property so children must at all times be accompanied by their parents and/or legal guardians.
There is no television or wi-fi in the suites at the lodge, there is a communal TV in the far lounge at the main house and one in the children’s playroom.
Wif-fi is accessible in the main lodge areas and is complimentary.

CHILDREN AT THE LODGE: TERMS & CONDITIONS

We accept children of all ages:
A maximum of 2 children aged 12 and under, sharing with their parents, can be accommodated in our Loft suites.
These are double storey suites. Upstairs is the master bedroom with en-suite bathroom (separate shower and bath) downstairs, in the lounge is a double sleeper couch and an ottoman which is slightly shorter than a single bed; these are made up in the evening for the children
  • The rate for children sharing accommodation with parents includes Bed & Breakfast and a special complimentary kiddies dinner each evening. The rate remains the same whether children eat meals or not.
  • Children 2 & under sharing with parents have complimentary dinner bed and breakfast.
  • An additional amount is charged if the children prefer to have the same menu as their parents.
  • Children under 12 or sharing accommodation have an earlier dining time of 6pm to the main adult dining time of 7.30pm. Separate family dining is easily arranged if parents wish their children to join them at the main dining time.
  • Babysitting services available on request – charged to the guest directly.
  • We have two cots available on a first-come-first-serve basis, which are complimentary.
  • There are two unfenced dams and a swimming pool on the premises.
  • There is a playroom in the main lodge area for children, with TV, DVDs and games.
  • There is a communal television in the main house, none in the rooms.
  • Children & adults to please be aware at all times of noise factors regarding other guests.
  • Children are at all times the responsibility of their parents and/or legal guardians.

RATES INCLUSIONS AND DISCLAIMER

  • Include a full farmhouse breakfast.
  • Include VAT at the current rate of 15%.
  • Subject to change without prior notice.

MINIMUM LENGTH OF STAY FOR THE VILLAS

  • Two nights.
  • From 16 Dec to 10 Jan each year minimum 3 night stay.
  • Over the Easter holidays each year a minimum three nights’ stay.

DEPOSITS

  • 100% of total cost of stay 30 days prior to stay, or a valid credit card number with expiry date – a 50% deposit will be deducted to secure booking.
  • Mastercard & Visa cards - we require the three digit code.
  • No AMEX or DINERS cards are accepted for payment from Agents/Operators.

GROUP TERMS & CONDITIONS: DEPOSITS

  • RATES: include B&B and VAT at the current rate of 15%. SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE
  • ARRIVAL: From 14h00 & DEPARTURE is at 11h00
  • FULL PAYMENT AND FINAL ROOMING LIST required 90 days prior to arrival by bank transfer, or by valid credit card number (and three digit code for Visa and Mastercards) for full deduction.
  • Please note: we do not accept Amex or Diners cards as payments from Agents or Operators.

CANCELLATION POLICY

FIT CANCELLATION

  1. We require a deposit of 100% 30 days prior to stay to confirm the reservation. We may impose a cancellation fee in the event of cancellation before date of arrival. The fee will depend on the nature of the reservation, the length of notice of cancellation before delivery, the reasonable potential to find alternative clients for the reservation and the reason for cancellation. In the event of cancellation due to the death or hospitalization of the person for whose benefit the reservation was made the full amount will be returned on receipt of relevant documentation. Cancellations between seven and thirty days before arrival will result in 50% of the total cost of stay being withheld.
  2. In the event of cancellation within six days of arrival, there will be no refund.
  3. In the event of premature departure, we may charge for the full extent of stay which was booked and confirmed.
  4. Receipt of a deposit or credit card number or voucher number assumes unconditional agreement of these terms.
  5. In the case of Tour Operators and or Travel Agents, a written confirmation assumes unconditional agreement of these terms.
  6. Cancellations must be received in writing.

GUIDE POLICY

Guides/drivers staying at the lodge, pay the same rates as above.

THIRD ADULT SHARING

We have a policy of NO THIRD adult sharing a room.

LEVY

We do not charge the TOMSA levy. We do not charge any other levy.

PORTERAGE

We do not charge porterage.

SUPPLEMENTS

The rates quoted within the dates stipulated above are our correct and only rate structure.

TRANSFERS

We do not offer transfers or transportation to guests.
Guests need either their own transportation or guide.
Taxis can be arranged at the guest’s own cost. Please bear in mind the taxis need to come out from Plettenberg Bay (approx 18km) so times need to be planned in advance.

BREAKFAST/LUNCH/DINNER RATES

Breakfast is included in the rates above.
Lunch: we serve a light lunch with a small a la carte menu. Charged to the guest.
Dinner: is a three-course meal, with pre-dinner snacks and post dinner sweet dainties – charged to guests.

DIRECTIONS

18km East of Plettenberg Bay, traveling on the N2 in the direction of Port Elizabeth. Signposted on the N2: – Hog Hollow/Antlers/Barnyard. A little further along the N2, is a small road sign saying ASKOP. At the Askop road sign, turn off the highway. Hog Hollow is 1.3km further along the Askop Road on the left. The road is tarred and has speed bumps, so maintain a low speed.

GENERAL DISCLAIMER

Although Hog Hollow Country Lodge prides itself in providing accommodation facility which adheres to reputable safety standards, all guests and visitors to the property are hereby advised and accept that should they fail to adhere to the instructions provided by the business or act in any improper manner, for instance wandering off the demarcated pathways, accidents may occur. Neither, Hog Hollow Country Lodge nor its staff or employees will be held liable for any injury, loss or damage, of whatsoever nature, to the persons or property of any patron if aforesaid injury, loss or damage was caused due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control. This includes any consequential damages cased as a result of such injury or damage to property.

VALUABLE GOODS

Pleas ensure that your valuables are not left unattended as we will not accept liability with regards to the disappearance or damage of valuable items of any guest or visitor, unless such disappearance or damage has regard to any situation within the Business’s reasonable control.
We will accept no liability in the event of the following:

  • Guests/visitors leaving/losing any valuable goods at the pool area or communal area;
  • Guests/visitors leaving their doors open/unlocked, unless the management of Hog Hollow Country Lodge has specifically requested the doors to be kept open/unlocked for necessary maintenance or cleaning services, whilst valuable items are left in the suites/villas.
  • Guests/visitors not taking the necessary care with regards to the usage of their valuables whilst at the premises.

POOL DISCLAIMER

The Management reserves the right to prohibit the use of the pool to any person and the right to remove persons whose behaviour is such that it interferes with the comfort and safety of others.
The pool area is unsupervised and persons using this area do so at their own risk. The hotel takes no responsibility for damage done to person or possessions in the area by themselves or others, nor is the hotel responsible for loss of possessions left unattended.
In order to ensure the enjoyment and safety of all who use the pool area, please follow these rules:

  • Running; jumping and other activities are strictly prohibited.
  • Items not directly designed for use in a pool area not to enter the water.
  • Conventional swimwear to be used at all times.
  • Consumption of food and alcohol is prohibited in the pool.
  • No breakable glassware or crockery items allowed within 5metres of the swimming pool.
  • Drunk and disorderly conduct is prohibited.
  • Children must be supervised by their parents and/or legal guardians.

RESTAURANT TERMS & CONDITIONS

Hog Hollow Country Lodge endeavours to ensure that the highest standard is adhered to in the preparation and cooking of our foods for human consumption. This includes strictly ensuring that our staffs who prepare our food are tidy and clean at all times, which includes washing their hands with a hand sanitizer every few instances.
We are open to receive any legitimate/honest customer complaints from our customers subject to the following:

  • The Customer shall read the menu to ascertain whether or not the product contains any ingredients that the customer is allergic to. The Customer accepts that the business cannot be held liable for any harm that it (the customer) may have incurred due to failure to read warnings and other information provided on the menu;
  • The Customer shall immediately submit to the business a reminder of any product that is found to be harmful or defective or wanting in any other respect. This should be done within 24 hours of discovering the defect or harm, whichever might be the case.

As Hog Hollow Country Lodge cannot be help liable for any harm or loss caused to a Consumer if such harm or loss cannot be attributed to any circumstances within the Company’s reasonable control, the Company will accept no liability for harm/damage caused by consuming the Company’s products after the “best before date” or in any other way against its instructions.
